Holiday Letter 2010

Merry Christmas!

It seems the theme this year has been “Getting settled in.” I’m pretty much at peace with my job in Boise, aside from the occasional snowstorm. Carrie’s transitioning nicely to her role as a stay-at-home mom, and the girls are ramping up into their respective accelerated programs at school.

Lauren is in the fourth grade this year, and as one of the participants in the TAG program at Fruitland, she was picked to help out in the Developmental P.E. program for the younger kids. Her teachers say that she is extremely helpful and understanding.

Jessica is in second grade, and aside from being somewhat of a social butterfly, is progressing nicely as well. She was lagging behind on her reading tests earlier in the year, but I think it was a setup for the bribe that we inevitably offered. That’s going to cost us at the end of the year.

Carrie continues on her slow road of recovery from her back surgery. She is driving again, but she tends to overdo things sometimes and winds up hurting pretty bad. It’s all she can do to keep the rest of us in line.

I have decided that ‘Publishers’ and ‘Literary Agents’ are as fictional as everything else I write about, and plan on publishing my first novel on my own sometime next year. Looking forward to the time I can just write and spend more time with friends and family, but I’m not holding my breath.

Hopefully this year has been at least as kind to you as it has us. We wish you well this holiday season. If we do not see you on the party circuit the next few weeks, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
